Engineering (Macro)

Macro-engineering is an umbrella field that includes building anything large where tolerances are not a factor. Examples include the fabrication of buildings, boat or aircraft hulls, certain types of armor. Macro-engineering can be used to envision and fabricate original creations or diagnose and resolve issues in existing creations.

Complex projects may require multiple disciplines to complete. For example, creating a mechanical steamboat would require Macroengineering to create the hull and superstructure, Precision Engineering for steering and controls, and Alchemical Engineering for the drive system.

Engineering (Macro) Stunts

  • Specialization: Choose a subfield of Engineering (Macro) such as Civil Engineering, Aerostructures, Maritime Engineering, etc. You get a +2 bonus to all Engineering (Macro) rolls relating to that field of specialization.
  • The Toolbelt of Life Experience: You don’t ever have to spend a fate point to declare that you have the proper tools for a particular job using Engineering (Macro), even in extreme situations (like being imprisoned and separated from all your stuff). This source of opposition is just off the table.
